Alvarez Acoustic Guitars

There is always a brand that stands out for every type of guitar.  Gibson, Washburn, and Fender for instance take the stage and limelight when it comes to electric guitars while acoustics pride themselves under the name of Alvarez.  Guitar enthusiasts who fall under the acoustic umbrella usually turn to an Alvarez acoustic guitars due to the fact that it is one of the best brands ever made in the music industry.  The company produces some of the best and most varied of string instruments and has even tried producing electric guitars.  But their success didn’t come without hardships, which is clearly seen in their history back in the early 1900s.

At first, the Alvarez company started out as a woodworking business specializing in Japanese furniture and became successful in this type of business.  It then became partners with the Singer Corporation after World War II, and then began building and producing sewing machine cabinets.  But then Matsumoko Industrial decided to go further than what they were used to making, and since Matsumoko’s staff members were skilled luthiers already, he veered towards stringed instruments.  This was when the first Alvarez acoustic guitar came into existence and since then the company has aimed for quality and a reputation as an instrument manufacturing company by going into contract with several of the big-time companies such as Gibson, Guyatone, Westbury, and Washburn.

It is interesting to see how far Alvarez has come since their first days as a guitar manufacturer and I think that coming from a company that previously made furniture, it is a cool transition to go to.

Up to the present time, the Alvarez acoustic guitar remains to be one of the best acoustic guitars ever made in the music industry.  Sitting along side of names like Ibanez electric acoustic guitars and electric Yamaha guitar, Alverez has really carved a chuck out of the market for themselves.
